I don’t know what this flower is, but I think it could sashay down the red carpet with the best of them.

It appeared a few days ago amidst a clump of mint, paperwhites, and weeds in our front yard. I was in the process of digging that whole area up, but now I have to think again. One can’t dismiss such surprising, vivid, unforced loveliness.
